Little Fish Hill Park
小鱼山公囿br> Built in the Chinese classical style, the hilltop park is named after the Yu Hill. In laying out the park, its designers and architects made use of the local landscape and their imagination. The 18 metre high three-story and eight-cornered Seeing Waves Tower bears an inscription by Wu Zuoren, a famous calligraphist.

Lu Xun Park
鲁迅公园
Built in 1929,Lu Xun Park is located on the shore of The Huiquan Bay.It got its present name in 1950 in memory of the distinguished Chinese modern writer Lu Xun. The park is a perfect combination of traditional Chinese gardening art and natural beauty.

Xinhao Hill Park
信号山公囿
Xinhao Hill Park means signal hill because a beacon was once on its peak. A walk to the peak takes around 20 minutes on steep winding paths but the impressive view of the town makes the hike worthwhile. Also on this hill is the Xinhao Hill Hotel. Built in 1905 the hotel was once the home of the German governor. The colonial buildings that make up the hotel are architecturally very interesting. The hotel no longer accepts overnight guests but is open to the public and visitors will experience the grandeur of a bygone age.

Zhongshan Park
中山公园
Situated by Huiquan Bay and covering an area of 800,000sqm, this cultural park has the most typical vegetation and is nicknamed "Flower Sea in Eastern Garden". The 500-meter-long Oriental Cherry Corridor is a famous scenic spot featuring 20,000 Japanese cherry trees. Every April and May, a Cherry Festival attracts thousands of admirers to view the delicate pink blossoms.

Badaguan

八大兿
Badaguan (Eight Passes) is named after the eight passes of the Great Wall. Located in the city center, the passes are planted with trees of various blooms blossoming in different seasons, such as peaches, crabapples, pinetrees and ginkgoes. This area is known for its many villas, and with more than 200 western architectures in different styles, it is also called the Architecture Museum.

Guest House
迎宾馿br> It is architecture of a classic German castle. The delicate shape, splendid ornaments, graceful lines and bold colors make the Guest House one of the best examples of monomeric villas in China. Originally, it was the official residence of the German governor in Qingdao and was called "the Governor's Official Residence". In 1934, it was formally renamed "Guest House", and has become important as a retreat to receive VIPs in military affairs and politics.

Little Qingdao Isle

The May 4th Square
五四广场
The May 4th Square got its name in memory of the May 4th Movement. Located between the new municipal government building and the bay, it is composed of the Shizhengting Square, the central square and the coastal park that make a feature of the lawn an the shade square. These three parts have their own features and the whole square is a combination of local Qingdao features and modern flavours.

Music Square
音乐广场
In the center, there is a 20-meter high statue named "Sail of Music", under which a piano-shape instrument is set up for tourists to play. The platform, overlooking the sea, is designed as an opened music score, in which world famous melodies are stored. Tourist can enjoy different music by stepping on it.

Qingdao Sight-seeing TV Tower

The Qingdao Sightseeing TV Tower is 348 meters above sea level. It is located on Taiping Hill in the tourism center of Qingdao, with Zhongshan Park, Qingdao Arboretum and Zhanshan Temple in its close vicinity. Apart from its function as a television tower, it also serves as a major Qingdao tourist attraction. From the top of the tower, visitors can enjoy a panoramic view of the Qingdao picturesque seaside scenery. On April 28th, 2001, a special hall inside the tower was dedicated to the promotion of knowledge about Olympics. As the only one of its kind in China, it has become an important national venue for promotion of Olympic ideals.

Qingdao Underwater World

Qingdao Underwater World is a joint project of the Qingdao Aquarium and the Shandong Luxin Group. It is located in No.1 Laiyang Road. Its building area is 7,300m2. Its total underground water mass is over 4,000 tons. Inside, there are several hundred kinds of marine animals, being several thousand in quantity. Designed with unique features, equipped with advanced facilities, integrating benthal sightseeing and marine technology, Underwater World is a beautiful addition to Qingdao's scenic sites.

Zhanqiao Pier
栈桥
Zhanqiao Pier, built in 1891, is the symbol of Qingdao. After several restorations, from being a simple military harbor, it is now open to tourists. The pier is 440 meters long. There is an octagonal pagoda of distinctive Chinese style, "Huilan Pagada" at the end of the pier. From the top, tourists can fully view the magnificent sea. Along the shore, there is the beautiful Pier Park, which is a pleasant and quiet place for tourists to rest or enjoy the scenery of Little Qingdao Isle and its white tower.

Zhanshan Temple
湛山寿br> Situated at the foot of Zhanshan Hill and to the east of Taiping Hill, this temple was built in 1945. It has five halls and a pagoda, with an area of 20,000 square meters. The temple boasts a large collection of skillfully carved statues of Buddha and Buddhist scriptures. There are ten thousands of people at Zhanshan Temple from 8th to 10th in April on the lunar calender every year.

Qingdao Beaches

Qingdao is famous for its beautiful beaches that line the coast of the city. There are altogether seven beaches in the urban area. Number One Bathing Beach, also called Huiquan Bathing Beach, is 800 meters long and is equipped with sharkproof nets and all the necessary facilities. Number Two Bathing Beach in the Badaguan Scenic Area used to be popular with political figures, such as Chairman Mao and other central government officials. Number Three Bathing Beach of 400 meters long is located on the east end of Taiping Cape near the convalescent area. Number Six Bathing Beach, also called Zhanqiao Bathing Beach, is close to the city center. The bathing beach at the Shilaoren National Tourist Resort is 2,600 meters long. The white sand and clear blue waters are edged by lush hills. The hills are where the Badaguan Scenic Area is located and there are also more than 200 colonial style villas. At the end of the beach is the Huashi Villa (huashi lou), which was once the mansion of a Russian aristocrat but is now open to the public. The tower in this magnificent structure offers great views of the sands and seas. Amongst the beaches in Qingdao, the most popular ones are No.1 Bathing Beach, Shilaoren Beach and Golden Beach.
